Malavika Suresh

I am passionate about AI and love reading, writing and playing around with code. I enjoy picking a research paper and unpacking the background leading up to it and how it’s implemented. With my blogs, I’m looking to pen down ideas and thoughts on topics that interest me but don’t necessarily become academic papers. I hope it will inspire new research students and other researchers!

I am currently pursuing my PhD in Artificial Intelligence at Robert Gordon University. My thesis explores challenges that arise when deploying pre-trained transformer language models – (1) continually adapting to new classes/domains in classification tasks (2) detecting factual hallucinations in generation tasks.

I read a range of things from Jane Austen to John Gribbin. I enjoy hiking, singing, playing basketball and exploring new cities. I’ve just started learning to play the Cajon!
